Pain and suffering.
Moans and wails.
A crying mother,
a crying father,
a crying child.
They don't belong to each other.
They've all lost.
And they themselves
are lost.
"A tragedy."
Suffering of an innocent.
Suffering of an innocent.
They call it
"collateral damage."
The loss of family,
friends, is nothing but
collateral damage.
I see how you've tied in the ideas of the city being bombed you mentioned in your artist profile here...and the terrible reality that families are torn apart by war and it's just accepted as what happens in such times.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Picasso quotes is "What is strange to us today will be familiar tomorrow." He said it in reference to a huge sculpture in Chicago that people didn't understand, but I think it has so many applications to life in general.
